'Tis the season!

Christmas time is a happy period for me personally. Young kids, eyes all aglow, troubles will be miles away, and other clichés come to mind when I think of the holidays. It's an equally exciting time for photography. Yes, the days are dark and gloomy, but they are also hopefully white and peppered with festive artificial lights everywhere you look.

Clearly, I'm not the only one who feels like this. The image above is the most popular photo I've ever posted on Instagram. To say that it went viral would be an understatement. The image below takes second place, believe it or not. Both were taken within minutes of each other during a single shoot, and they claim the #1 and #2 spot by a mile. Clearly folks around the world are yearning as much as myself for some brightness during days on which the sun sets at 4PM (if we even see it at all). I suppose they're also yearning for a true White Christmas Vermont fairytale. I know I am!

Unfortunately, it's looking as though my photography endeavors have come to a premature stop this holiday season. Stowe could use some fresh snow. Without it, any photos I produce will lack that sparkle. For the time being, I will be dreaming, just like Bing Crosby back in the day, for the weather gods to give me a hand. My bag is ready, though. If it comes, you'll see me on Instagram soon!

For now, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
