Hi, I'm Mark Vandenberg

I didn't discover it until about 15 years ago, but I was born for photography. I moved to beautiful Stowe, Vermont in 2011, picked up my (then) DSLR camera, and have gradually built up my portfolio since. Along the way I started my "Stowe Beautiful" Instagram account, which currently has over 8,000 followers and is still growing rapidly. "Stowe Beautiful" has become, without doubt, one of a few leading Instagram accounts dedicated to Stowe. It's still the primary vehicle for displaying my photos, and I'm often humbled by all the positive feedback I get from followers.

I love to travel, but I also love to return home (which is a normal thing when one lives in a place like Stowe, I suppose!). I don't mind photographing sweeping landscapes out West or wherever, but what captured my heart in Stowe is photographing the small joys of life: windy back roads on foggy mornings, iconic barns in their natural environments, etc. Subjects that evoke a certain longing for bygone times.

Lots of my photos are shot with a drone. Something magical happens once you start observing this town from above. I have lots of fun flying it. But, in the end a drone is just another tool; ultimately it's the art that counts.

On this website, you'll find a carefully curated selection of premium quality prints, whether it be on paper, metal, or acrylic. Many of my photos, while looking great on screen, didn't make the cut for printing due to insufficient resolution or slight motion blur, or plainly because I didn't find them good enough. I'm a perfectionist and take my dedication to deliver the best product very seriously.
